PACHANGA - Spanish /paw*chong*guh/ (Noun)

  1. Party or Bash

  2. A gathering of mountain cyclists on some of the most amazing unsung trails to ride the “best of the best” mountain sleds.

The camping/riding event that put TORCA on the map continues to evolve and each year it gets bigger and better! This year’s event includes three days of camping and riding, with Bike Demo’s, a Poker Ride, a “Funduro”, Freeride Friday (Downhill Runs), and a Skills Clinic. And while all the funds raised for this event go directly to support TORCA (a 501c3 non-profit supported solely by membership dues, grants, and fundraising), you don’t have to be a member to attend! (but members get a steep discount on entrance to the event. Hey, “membership has its privileges!”). All funds raised during this epic event support TORCA’s on-going efforts to maintain and rehabilitate Tucson’s trails, specifically those on Mt Lemmon.

  • Camping!  Exclusive use of Molino Basin campgrounds! Campsite included in price of admission! Subject to first come first served. Additional camping can be found at: HERE
  • Bike Demos! The best in the business will be bringing their fleet of all-mountain steeds for you to try out on the best trails around. Committed to attend are: Ibis, Giant, Cannondale, Liv, Pivot, Juliana, Specialized, and Rocky Mountain

  • Fireside Cornhole Contest on Saturday evening, SPONSORED by Five Ten shoes
  • Ladies Only Mini Skills Clinic with Lindsey Richter of Ladies Allride Included in the cost of admission, learn from world-renowned Coach Lindsey. Space limited, sign up and reserve your spot today!

FREERIDE FRIDAY

4th Annual POKER RIDE AND DEMO DAY

8:30am – 2:00pm

Shuttle up to the top of Bug Spring and Prison Camp, two of Tucson’s most famous trails, and on your ride stop at each of our five “dealers” to get your poker card. Best hands win amazing prices! Simultaneously, demo the best bikes in the industry. This year's manufacturers are Ibis, Specialized, Cannondale, Juliana, Rocky Mountain, Giant, Liv, and Pivot! You’ll have the opportunity to try out a 2017 bike during the Poker Ride as well as during the demo hours. We’ll take care of shuttles and lunch, consisting of World Famous Korean BBQ Pork Tacos, Beans and Rice, all compliments of Risky Business Restaurant. (BYOB) Don't forget to join us Saturday night at the Molino Group Camp Site for Fireside Cornhole!

3nd Annual FUNDURO AND DEMO DAY
9:00am – 2:00pm

We’re taking the buzz of the MTB world, the “Enduro” and adding a little more “fun” to it. Sponsored by Giant, this event will take place on Bug Spring/ Prison Camp Trails In a FUNDURO, there is only one class and it’s not about the fastest riders. We take the average time of all riders from the timed stages and the times closest to the average are the winner! Prizes will be given to the 5 “most average” riders. If you’re the “STRAVA” type, we may have some prizes for you too, but shhh, THIS IS NOT A RACE!  It’s a time trial. If this isn't your thing, check out MORE bike demos on Prison Camp trail!

FOOD

While we’ll be providing Dinner on Friday night and Lunch on Saturday, food options are limited. There are however a few options within a few minutes of the events. We recommend The Iron Door Restaurant across from the Ski Lifts at Mt. Lemmon as well as The Sawmill in Summerhaven. Please check out their hours as they close early some days.

In addition, there are few restaurant options at the bottom of the mountain at the corner of Tanque Verde and Catalina Hwy, Just a 15 minute drive back down the mountain. We recommend Risky Business at 8848 E. Tanque Verde. Aside from the fact that they are one of our sponsors and mountain biker owned, they have awesome food and a bitchin selection of beers! Lastly, we recommend Le Buzz Café for coffee and a ridiculous assortment of homemade pastries, sandwiches and salads. They are located next to the Safeway Grocery Store on the corner of Tanque Verde and Catalina Hwy.

HOTELS

There are a few options for lodging within a short 20 minute drive. There is a Comfort Suites on the eastside of Tucson, within 30 minutes of the event. In addition there are a few Tucson mtb locals with some great guest houses for rent that are close to the event. Contact TORCA President Tara Alcantara for details on these rentals at 520-237-0129.
