Milagrosa

Status: Adopted

Length: 3.75 mi

Trail Type: Multi-use

La Milagrosa Trail is an iconic a downhill trail that descends from the Bellota section of the Arizona Trail to the north down to the foot of the Santa Catalinas along a ridgeline above La Milagrosa Canyon. The formerly unsanctioned trail has been a popular trail for hikers, mountain bikers, and climbers alike, only being maintained by unknown devoted individuals. With La Milagrosa’s adoption, TORCA can use its resources to keep the trail in tip-top shape. This trail is beloved for its rowdy character, so TORCA’s plans are to primarily keep the corridor free from invading spikey plants and doing tread work as necessary to keep the trail alignment in place.

In December 2024, an anonymous donor provided funds to construct a rollover cattle guard for installation at the fence line approximately 0.8 miles from the AZT Bellota-Milagrosa trail intersection. The rollover was constructed by Bauer Built Trails, who also stepped up to lead the installation. This rollover removes the risk of riding into a hard-to-see barbed wire fence on a fast descent with limited view of the fence.
